Advanced and Amateur Stand Up Paddle USA Recommendation
A few years ago we took our first Sup LV1 training. The American Canoe Association ACA) trainer recommends me a book by an author called Steve West
The book was published in 2012 and was called Stand Up Paddle Book - A Paddlers Guide. This book is a complete handbook for SUP enthusiast and amateurs. I read it years back and until today is the only one who gave some vital information regarding the future of the sport. He reads the future? No, he used his long experience in water sports and the example of the windsurf. An eye opener for us and we keep using his book as a reference to many recent events in the SUP industry.
Today there is a shift back of the SUP, now is heading back to the times some of us started. A few brands, recreational growth, and focused SUP enthusiasts. Many brands are out of the market, and many more will disappear soon...
The evolution of the sport may be affected due to the interest of ISA International Surfing Association and ICF Planet Canoe to be their governing entity of the sport. Regardless of the decision of which federation will have this role, the IOC International Olympic Committee should accept the SUP as an Olympic sport, a new chapter for this young sport and thousands of people around the globe will celebrate this new chapter.
We recommend his book: Stand Up Paddle - A paddlers Guide by Steve West. If you want to read some related articles regarding Steve West and the future of the sport, please read this 2013 and a note from Mr. West:
